Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s family dog, Kevin, has been a very popular Michigan first dog, but now he has to share his fame with another dog in town.
The new addition to the family is named Doug. He made his first appearance Monday on the governor’s Michigan First Dogs Twitter account.
Doug is an 8-week-old Aussiedoodle from the same breeder that Whitmer’s family got Kevin from, according to the governor’s office.
Kevin and Doug can be seen cuddling in a picture and the post introduces him as a “smol” dog, meaning small.
But the two dogs seem to be having a hard time getting along. Kevin made an apology on Twitter after he pushed Doug when he tried to play with his toys. Kevin said that he was also temporarily grounded from Twitter.
Now Doug has taken over the Twitter account and reassured that Kevin won’t share his toys. He also let the public know that the two dogs are the only ones using the Twitter account, and that there is no human involved.
