SkillsFuture Singapore, IBM launch skills programme

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and computer hardware company IBM have unveiled the “i.am-vitalize”, a skills programme on AI and cybersecurity for mid-career professionals, SSG said in a press release.
IBM is also working with corporations such as Tribe Accelerator and Standard Chartered Bank to facilitate job placement opportunities to qualified candidates.
The “i.am-vitalize” skills programme comprises two tracks-Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity. Each track features a six-month certifiable, full-time training programme to equip learners with industry-relevant skills.
After subsidies from SSG, the courses will cost $500, which trainees can offset with their SkillsFuture Credit. In addition, each enrolled trainee will receive a monthly training allowance of $1,500.
Upon completion, trainees will be equipped with relevant skills for job roles such as AI Designer, Blockchain Product Manager, Blockchain Developer, Data Engineer, and Security Operation Analyst.
IBM Skills Academy will curate and deliver the programme’s key syllabus, which includes topics on design thinking, cloud computing, AI, data science, cybersecurity and blockchain.
The AI track provides training on companies optimise data and leverage AI to empower their digital workforce and transform customer service.
Meanwhile, the cybersecurity track will teach how blockchain ecosystems disrupt global supply chains and give cybersecurity skills to protect IT systems from cyber-attacks.
